Our Veterinarians

Marleta Poffenberger, DVM
Marleta Poffenberger, DVM

Originally from Maryland, she attended the University of Maryland and Virginia–Maryland Regional College of Veterinary Medicine. She moved to Washington, N.C., upon graduation from vet school in 1985 and began her career at Pamlico Animal Hospital.

She has been with the practice since 1985. Dr. Poffenberger is married and has two sons: a daughter, a daughter-in-law, a son-in-law, and a new grandson. “Dr. P” has too many pets to list in this space!

Amy Martin, DVM
Amy Martin, DVM

Born and raised in Washington, North Carolina. She received her BS in Animal Science from North Carolina State University in 2005 and her DVM from Texas A&M University in 2009. After veterinary school, Dr. Martin returned to eastern North Carolina.

She was an equine vet with Greenville Mobile Equine Service for three years before joining Pamlico Animal Hospital in 2012. Dr. Martin and her husband enjoy spending time with their four dogs and four cats.

Jennifer Fulp, DVM
Jennifer Fulp, DVM

Originally from Statesville, NC, she attended North Carolina State University for her BS in zoology, then graduated from NC State – College of Veterinary Medicine in 2020. She moved to Washington upon graduation and is really excited about helping our clients take the best care of their furry family members.

Dr. Fulp has four dogs, Huckleberry, Dany, Stella, and Libby; three cats, Cappy, TJ, and Forrest; and many other little critters. In her free time, she enjoys outdoor activities such as rock climbing, biking, and hiking.

Mariah Tripp, DVM
Mariah Tripp, DVM

Originally from Winterville, NC, she received her BS in Biology from East Carolina University in 2017 and received her DVM from North Carolina State University in 2022.

As someone who grew up in a small town, she is very excited about her move to Washington and looks forward to providing great quality care for her patients. Dr. Williams has two dogs, Cain and Billie Ray, and she enjoys hiking and reading in her spare time.

Stephanie Betbeze, DVM
Stephanie Betbeze, DVM

Dr. Stephanie Betbeze (pronounced “bet-bees”), originally from Alabama, is a dedicated veterinarian with a degree from Lincoln Memorial University-College of Veterinary Medicine. With a background spanning both mixed-animal and small-animal practices, she specializes in preventive medicine, dentistry, and comprehensive care for pets of all sizes.

Now residing in Washington, Dr. Betbeze continues her commitment to compassionate veterinary care, serving her community with expertise and empathy. Beyond her professional endeavors, she finds joy in fishing, reading, and spending time with her loved ones, including her husband, two children, three dogs, and a cat.​

Bea Jeuz, DVM
Bea Jeuz, DVM

​Dr. Bea Juez, DVM, was born in Gran Canaria, Spain. She completed her veterinary education across Spain and Germany, gaining a robust foundation in animal care. After graduation, she worked in equine care in Germany before moving to Kentucky for a surgical internship.

Fluent in Spanish, German, and English, Dr. Juez is excited about her transition into small animal medicine. An outdoor enthusiast, she enjoys hiking in her free time and is a proud cat mom to Benji and June.
