Our Leadership Team
Marleta Poffenberger, DVM
Facility Director
Dr. Poffenberger, also known as “Dr. P”, is responsible for making decisions regarding the usage of our hospital and pet resort.
She also handles maintenance needs and plans for future upgrades, such as diagnostic and medical equipment. Dr. P is one of the masterminds behind our state-of-the-art facility!
Amy Martin, DVM
Medical Director
Dr. Martin is passionate about patient care and strives to provide the highest quality products and services. She creates protocols for our veterinarians and staff to follow to ensure consistent care and information.
Although each case is unique, she has a wealth of knowledge to assist in providing the best care possible.
Jennifer Fulp, DVM
Dr. Fulp is a senior associate veterinarian in our practice, and although she doesn’t hold an official title, we highly value her vast knowledge and passion for patient care and client communication.
She enjoys mentoring our newer veterinarians and vet assistants to ensure that they meet our high standards of care. Dr. Fulp has made a significant contribution to our leadership team and is eager to see the practice expand in the future to offer additional diagnostic and treatment services.
Rebecca Ipock, CPA, CVPM
Hospital Manager
Rebecca is in charge of implementing the ideas of Dr. P and Dr. Martin. She leads our weekly leadership meetings, ensuring that everyone is on the same page regarding our goals, addressing issues, and making necessary changes.
Additionally, Rebecca is responsible for overseeing staff changes, managing finances, and promoting teamwork in every area of the hospital and pet resort.
Morgan Conrad
Office Manager
Morgan serves as an Inventory Manager, Social Media Manager, and IT Liaison. She works closely with Dr. Martin to ensure that our patients receive the best medications and products available.
She is also responsible for planning and implementing updates to our software. Additionally, Morgan is adept at troubleshooting technical issues and coordinating with our IT company when necessary. She manages our social media accounts and oversees the distribution of our email newsletters.
Kacy Koch
HR Manager
Kacy was promoted from Lead Veterinary Assistant to HR role in the last year. She finds pleasure in helping Rebecca during the interviewing and hiring process, and also in ensuring a smooth onboarding experience for new hires.
Kacy has put in a lot of effort to establish a training plan for our veterinary and kennel assistants. She’s also the Adoption Coordinator for pets available through PAH!
Sarah Carrow
Pet Resort Manager
Sarah’s hard work and dedication paid off when she was promoted from Lead Veterinary Assistant to Pet Resort Manager in late 2023. Since then, she has been doing an excellent job at coordinating and training our kennel assistants to provide the highest quality care to our boarding and grooming patients.
Sarah is full of great ideas to make the experience even better, and she is excited to implement them throughout the next year.
Laura Alligood
Client Care Coordinator
Laura considers making it personal and showing clients that we care for their pets as the most important aspect of her job. With 21 years of experience in various positions at PAH, she always ensures that any future plans or solutions to issues are in the best interest of our clients and their beloved pets.
Laura is the go-to person for training new receptionists on how to provide high-quality service to our pet owners.
Meghan Clark
Client Communication Coordinator
Meghan has been working with PAH for nearly seven years. Her primary role is to answer phone calls, texts, and emails from our clients.
She works behind the scenes but is always brainstorming during our weekly leadership team meetings about ways to communicate information to clients in a clear and straightforward manner.
Alessandra Mendoza-Silkiss
Lead Veterinary Assistant
Allie began her journey in 2020 as a receptionist and swiftly transitioned into a veterinary assistant role, where her dedication and enthusiasm propelled her to the position of lead vet assistant.
Originally from Pennsylvania, she relocated to Washington at the age of 11. With her beloved dog Neo and cat Niko by her side, Allie thrives in the treatment area, passionately assisting veterinarians, conducting lab work, and providing compassionate care to hospitalized patients.
Gretel Slager
Lead Veterinary Assistant
Gretel started with PAH in 2020 as a kennel assistant and moved into a veterinary assistant role within the next two years. She learned a lot and worked hard to earn her spot as a lead vet assistant. Born and raised in Pinetown, she later moved to Vanceboro with her dog, Piper.
Gretel enjoys spending her days assisting our veterinarians in surgery and caring for our hospitalized patients.
